The OPTIONS screen allows the user to select the range of user IDs to be searched for. Valid options are: ALL, which lists all files by user ID; USERLIST, which lists only files for current users; SELECT, which lists files for specific users entered on the ID#LIST screen; and UNLISTED, which only lists files owned by non-current users.
Following the list type choice are screens to select the VOLUMES and file TYPES and to enter an identifying header for the report. At the conclusion of the report, the user may exit, re-run the utility, or display the print file from the last run.
The report produced by SORTFILE includes the file name and location, record size, count, and type, file class, modification history, and the amount of disk space used and allocated. The report is sorted by user ID, with a page break at every change and the sum of disk blocks used and allocated.
