DISPLAY: The Wang DISPLAY utility is used to show the complete document index report.
The first screen shows all document libraries recognized by Word Processing, their volumes, and the number of files in each. To manage a library, tab to the respective letter and press (RETURN); the screen will display a list of all files in that library. Normal Wang conventions are used for screen movement; for example, press PF(05) for the next screen, PF(04) for the first, or PF(03) for the last screen.
Once the document number has been located, tab to that number and press (RETURN) to display information from the Document Summary. or press PF(07) to rename, PF(08) to scratch, PF(09) to protect (DP options), or PF(15) to print the screen. (Note: PF(10) (PRINT) does not function properly with recent Word Processing software. Use the print functions in WP or the Wang PRINTWP utility to perform this function.)
Within the DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT option the user may change the file's document summary information, the protection class, the document password, or scratch the file.
The INDEX option (PF(01) from the first screen) allows one or more libraries to be summarized in a report of document summary information. To use, press PF(01) from the first screen and select the libraries to be indexed by entering a non-blank character next to each. The generated listing will reside in the user's work library.
When the listing has completed, the DISPLAY utility is called to display it. If desired, this listing may also be printed; if so, be sure that the listing is actually printing before exiting, since WPLIST will scratch it otherwise. (See Program bug note below for further remedies to this problem.)
