User This utility allows a system administrator to find files or libraries with disk usage beyond a specified number of blocks. Files are displayed by library, with further details available by tabbing to a file and pressing (RETURN).
To use, enter the name of the volume to be examined and the block count threshold for the listing. To search all files on the volume, press PF(01); to select only files in a library press PF(02) and enter the library name on the next screen. To examine a single file only, press PF(03) and enter the library and file name on the next screen.
If the LIBRARY or VOLUME level is selected, VTOCTEST will display a screen listing of files that are greater than or equal to the selected block count threshold. This listing is grouped by file within libraries, and the block count of each file is also shown. To see more information on a file, tab to the name and press (RETURN).
The single file listing shows various attributes of the file, including the record type and organization, the modification history, and the physical disk locations of the first 13 extents. Note that all dates are shown in month/day/year format.
When the disk analysis is complete, press PF(16) from any screen to exit.
