PARANOIA: Object file for program.

User Instructions

This file utility compares two files or libraries to ensure that they are identical. After a record-by-record comparison, the EOJ screen shows the results of the analysis. For program use, a non-zero return code from the utility signals mismatched files or libraries.

Programmer Instructions

This utility consists of two GETPARM screens and can be run under program control. Note that the return code from PARANOIA is the only program indication of errors in the files or libraries.

DISKAREA    Press (RETURN) to continue.

  FILE      (blank)     The file and library names of the
  LIBRARY   (blank)     files to be analyzed.

  SOURCVOL  (blank)     The names of the original volume and
  COPYVOL   (blank)     the destination volume.

EOJ         Press PF(01) to restart or  PF(16) to end
            program.  (Note that the results of the analysis
            are displayed on-screen.  To use in a program,
            look for a non-zero return code from PARANOIA.)

Example of use

Designed to check that a copy or backup has been performed correctly. Assumes that file and library names remain the same, with only the disk name varying.
