COMPRLIB: compare the contents of two libraries
Description
Compares file entries in two libraries, listing files found
in both libraries and those found in one but not the other.
Options to compare record by record (using the DIFF utility).

User Instructions
At the INPUT screen, enter the locations of the libraries to
be compared. Select record comparison, output mode, and DIFF
options and press (RETURN).
From the results screen, choose whether to run again, display
files not found in a library, or print comparison results.
Press PF(04) from the results screen to
display files found in both libraries.
If there are differences in the files,
the nature of these differences will be indicated with a code
to the right of the file name. For a
screen explaining the meanings
of these codes, press PF(13).
Programmer Instructions
Selection screens can be run under program control; display
options are interactive. If PRINT option is selected, the
utility can be run without workstation intervention. DIFF
must be in the same library as COMPRLIB.
INPUT Press (RETURN) to continue or PF(16) to exit.
LIBRARY1 (blank) First library to be compared.
VOLUME1 (blank)
LIBRARY2 (blank) Second library to be compared.
VOLUME2 (blank)
COMPARE YES Compare matched files by record with
the DIFF utility (YES/NO)?
MODE DISPLAY Set to PRINT to create a report of
the results. (Results from DISPLAY
option can also be printed.)
DIFF NO Set to YES to invoke the DIFF utility
for source files.
Example of use
COMPRLIB lists files in one or both libraries, and indicates
when there are differences in the files. Use to determine
files that are missing from a production or test libraries.
Comments
Best used to find the existence or non-existence of files in
two libraries. Works very quickly.
